Why a Pix4D setup costs more than the license
The license is only one line of a Pix4D budget. PIX4Dmapper processes on your own machine, so the real cost includes the workstation that runs it: a strong CPU, a good GPU, plenty of RAM and fast storage, plus the hours that machine is busy on a large project instead of doing CAD or email. If the team also needs to share results with a client or process while traveling, PIX4Dcloud is a second subscription on top of the desktop one.
A cloud platform moves that cost into the monthly price. Processing runs on our servers, the laptop in the truck only uploads and measures, and nobody waits for the office PC to finish a 2,000-image flight before they can open a different job.
