DJI Terra pricing at a glance
The prices below are the US list prices at Drone Nerds, an authorized DJI Enterprise dealer, as checked in September 2026. Other authorized dealers sell the same SKUs and their prices can differ, and DJI changes versions and prices without much notice. Ask your dealer for a written quote before you order.

DJI also sells an Agriculture version for multispectral field maps. DJI's own European store lists it at €300 a year for 3 devices, but US dealers did not show it when we checked, so ask for it by name.
How much does DJI Terra cost?
For a commercial mapping team, DJI Terra costs $1,680 a year for Standard or $4,800 once for a permanent Standard license, at US dealer prices. Flagship, which you only need for Gaussian splatting or power line work, costs $3,360 a year or $9,610 permanent. Add a Windows workstation with an NVIDIA GPU and 32 GB of RAM or more, which DJI lists as the requirement.
Standard or Flagship: which one you actually need
Most survey, construction and aggregates teams need Standard. It builds orthomosaics and 3D models from photos, processes point clouds from Zenmuse L1, L2 and L3 LiDAR sensors, takes ground control points and outputs in your chosen coordinate system. Since version 5.1, cluster reconstruction across several networked PCs is included in Standard and Flagship at no extra charge.
Flagship is worth the extra $1,680 a year only if you do one of three things: photorealistic 3D Gaussian splatting for visualization, power line corridor work, or detailed close-range inspection of structures. If none of those is on your job list, the difference buys nothing for a topo or a stockpile count.
Yearly or permanent: where the break-even sits
A permanent Standard license at $4,800 equals about 2.9 years of the $1,680 yearly license. Flagship works out the same way: $9,610 permanent against $3,360 a year is also about 2.9 years. So if you expect to use Terra for three years or more on the same machine, the permanent license is cheaper on paper.
Two things change that math. First, updates. Dealers describe the current permanent licenses as including version updates, but listings for the older Terra Pro permanent license also sold a separate yearly upgrade and maintenance fee. Get the update terms in writing. Second, the hardware. A permanent license saves less than it seems if the workstation it runs on needs replacing in year three.
The offline variants cost $360 more and exist for teams whose processing PC cannot touch the internet, such as some utility and government sites. Everyone else should buy the online version.
Is there a free trial of DJI Terra?
Yes. DJI offers a one-month trial, but it cannot reconstruct projects of more than 500 photos and limits LiDAR data to 8 GB. That is enough to test the workflow on a small site. It is not enough to test a full production flight of 1,000 images or more, so plan a paid month or a dealer demo if you want to see Terra on a real job before you commit.
The cost that is not on the price tag: the workstation
DJI Terra is Windows desktop software. DJI lists Windows 10 or later (64-bit), 32 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA graphics card with at least 4 GB of memory as the minimum, and large photogrammetry or LiDAR jobs run much better with more of each. There is no Mac version, so a team on MacBooks needs a separate PC. Reseller listings for Terra licenses are sold per device, so a second processing PC usually means a second license. Confirm the device count for your SKU with the dealer.
That machine is busy while it processes. A 1,500-image flight can tie it up for hours, which is time the CAD tech or the estimator cannot use it. Budget the PC, its replacement cycle and the waiting time the same way you budget the license.
Worked example: a 3-person civil and survey team over 3 years
Take a small firm: one pilot, one CAD tech and one project manager. They fly about 6 sites a month with a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise, roughly 5,000 images a month, and the project manager sends clients a map link after each flight.

The honest read: on software alone, a permanent Terra Standard license is cheaper than 3 years of our Team plan. If one person processes everything on one strong PC and nobody outside the office needs to open the map, Terra is the lower-cost buy. The math changes when several people need to measure, when the team works on Macs, when the client expects a link instead of a GeoTIFF, or when you would rather not own the hardware. A single operator who flies about 3,000 images a month can also run on our Starter plan at $99 per month, which is $2,970 over three years with no PC to buy.
When DJI Terra is the right buy
Buy Terra if you fly a DJI Zenmuse LiDAR sensor, because Terra is DJI's own processor for L1, L2 and L3 data and handles it without a separate LiDAR suite. It also makes sense if your data cannot leave your own network, if you need offline processing on a job site, or if you already own a capable workstation that sits idle most of the week.

How to get a fair DJI Terra quote
Call two dealers and ask the same questions:
- The exact SKU: Standard or Flagship, yearly or permanent, online or offline
- How many computers the license activates on, and whether you can move it to a new PC
- Whether version updates are included on the permanent license, and for how long
- Whether the dealer bundles training or a support plan, and what it costs separately
- The price with your drone purchase, since dealers often discount Terra when it ships with an M350 or a Matrice 4E
Then put the three-year total next to a subscription that includes the processing hardware, and compare what each option costs per site you deliver.
