PIX4Dsurvey price at a glance
Current prices come from Pix4D's PIX4Dmatic pricing page with yearly billing, and the migration dates from Pix4D's support article on the PIX4Dmatic and PIX4Dsurvey unification, both checked in October 2026. The old standalone figures are what US resellers still list for PIX4Dsurvey, shown so you can read an old quote, not as something you can buy new from Pix4D.
| What you are pricing | Yearly price | What it gets you |
|---|---|---|
| PIX4Dmatic Analyst, the PIX4Dsurvey successor | $2,290 | Calibration, point cloud generation, CAD extraction and automatic vectorization, terrain classification, grid of points, TIN, DTM, contour lines, surface comparison |
| PIX4Dmatic Standard | $3,990 | Point cloud, mesh, DSM, orthomosaic and orthoplanes, drone, mobile and LiDAR data in one project |
| PIX4Dmatic Pro | $4,990 | Everything in Analyst and Standard, plus Gaussian splatting |
| Old PIX4Dsurvey listing at a US reseller | $199 a month, $1,990 a year or $4,490 perpetual | Survey and vectorization only, no photogrammetry processing |
| DroneMapping Team | $1,488 | Orthomosaic, DSM and DTM, volumes, DXF and SHP contours, cut and fill, GCP and checkpoint report, 10 seats |
The headline: the survey tool that used to cost about $1,990 a year now costs $2,290 under a new name, and the processing it always depended on is a second tier.
How much does PIX4Dsurvey cost now?
PIX4Dsurvey costs $2,290 a year as PIX4Dmatic Analyst, the plan Pix4D says keeps the former PIX4Dsurvey features. New buyers cannot order PIX4Dsurvey by itself, because Pix4D's unification notice says new purchases are under PIX4Dmatic Standard, Analyst and Pro. If a reseller still quotes a standalone PIX4Dsurvey license, ask what it activates, since Pix4D says a PIX4Dsurvey key activated after January 5, 2026 opens the Analyst or Standard module.
What happens to an existing PIX4Dsurvey license?
Existing PIX4Dsurvey users get PIX4Dmatic Analyst access automatically. Pix4D's timeline moves subscriptions over at their renewal date from September 2026, and the remaining subscriptions and one-time (perpetual) licenses in December 2026. A perpetual license whose support and upgrades have lapsed is not migrated. Separately, PIX4Dsurvey and PIX4Dmatic versions 1.43 and older stopped logging in, processing, saving and exporting on January 15, 2026.
That renewal is the moment most firms notice the change, because the invoice now names a different product at a different price. If software renewals tend to slip past your office, a SaaS spend tracker that lists every subscription with its renewal date catches this one before it auto-renews.
Is PIX4Dsurvey enough on its own for a survey firm?
Usually not. PIX4Dsurvey, and now Analyst, starts from a point cloud and turns it into a DTM, contours, breaklines and CAD linework. It does not make the orthomosaic. Something else has to process the drone photos first: PIX4Dmatic Standard, PIX4Dmapper, or a point cloud from another engine or a LiDAR unit. A firm that delivers an orthomosaic base map plus contours from its own flights ends up on PIX4Dmatic Pro at $4,990 a year, or on Analyst plus a separate photogrammetry license.
PIX4Dsurvey vs PIX4Dmapper for the same job
PIX4Dmapper costs $3,990 a year and processes the photos into an orthomosaic, DSM, DTM, contours and volumes on one license. It does not have Analyst's automatic vectorization and CAD extraction. So the choice is about the deliverable. If your CAD technician spends hours drawing curbs, edges and breaklines, Analyst saves that time. If the job ends at a surface, contours and a volume, Mapper or a cloud plan covers it, and the vectorization tier is money spent on a tool nobody opens. The full split between the two desktop apps is in Pix4Dmapper vs Pix4Dmatic pricing.
What a 3-person survey team pays over 3 years
Take a land surveying firm with a drone pilot, a CAD technician and a project manager. They fly about 4,000 photos a month and deliver an orthomosaic, a bare-earth DTM with contours and stockpile volumes. On busy weeks the pilot and the CAD technician both work on surfaces.
| Cost over 3 years | PIX4Dmatic Pro, 1 license | Analyst plus Standard, 1 each | DroneMapping Team |
|---|---|---|---|
| Software | $14,970 | $18,840 | $4,464 |
| Orthomosaic | Yes | Yes, on Standard | Yes |
| DTM and contours | Yes | Yes, on Analyst | Yes, DXF and SHP contours |
| Automatic vectorization and breaklines | Yes | Yes | No |
| People working at once | 1 | 2, one per license | 10 seats |
| Workstation | A Windows PC with an NVIDIA GPU, bought by you | Two of them | Not needed |
| Client sharing | Exports, or PIX4Dcloud from $1,290 a year | Same | View links included |
With one Pro license the pilot and the CAD technician take turns on one machine. With two licenses the software line alone is more than four times the DroneMapping figure, before hardware.
When PIX4Dmatic Analyst is the right purchase
Some firms should buy it, and we say so plainly.
- Your CAD technician draws a lot of linework from point clouds, and automatic vectorization saves real hours.
- You already receive point clouds from a LiDAR unit or another engine and only need terrain and CAD output.
- Your deliverable is a full topographic CAD file with breaklines, not a surface and a volume.
- You need offline processing on your own hardware.
If that is your shop, compare Analyst against Pro and skip the cloud tools.
When a cloud plan with seats costs less
A cloud platform wins when the work ends at surfaces, volumes and contours and several people touch it. In DroneMapping the pilot uploads the geotagged JPEGs in a browser, processing takes about 1.5 to 3.6 hours for 500 photos, and the project manager measures stockpiles on the same surface the CAD technician downloads as DXF contours. Cut and fill against a design surface and a GCP and checkpoint report with RMSE in X, Y and Z come with Team. We do not do automatic vectorization, LiDAR or offline processing, so a firm that lives on breaklines should keep Analyst for that step. Our drone survey software page covers the control and accuracy workflow, and the Pix4D alternative page prices the whole Pix4D lineup for a team.
Is there a free trial of PIX4Dsurvey?
There is no separate PIX4Dsurvey trial anymore. Pix4D offers a free PIX4Dmatic trial from its pricing page, and the desktop trial runs for 15 days, which covers the Analyst tools. Test it on a site you already surveyed, with two or three checkpoints held back, so you compare accuracy instead of screenshots. Our demo opens a processed surface without an account.
Does PIX4Dsurvey run on a Mac?
PIX4Dmatic, which now carries the PIX4Dsurvey tools, runs natively on Apple silicon Macs. Its GPU acceleration uses NVIDIA CUDA, which Macs do not have, so heavy jobs process more slowly than on a Windows PC with an NVIDIA card. A cloud plan processes on the vendor's servers, so a MacBook only uploads and measures. See photogrammetry software for Mac.
Is there a cheaper alternative to PIX4Dsurvey for a survey team?
Yes, for teams whose deliverable is a surface, contours and volumes rather than full CAD linework. DroneMapping Starter is $99 a month or $588 a year with 3 seats, and Team is $249 a month or $1,488 a year with 10 seats, DXF and SHP contours, cut and fill and checkpoint reports. Every plan is printed on the drone mapping pricing page, with no workstation to buy.
