PIX4Dmatic pricing and cost per year, Analyst vs Standard vs Pro for survey firms

PIX4Dmatic costs $2,290 a year for Analyst, $3,990 a year for Standard and $4,990 a year for Pro, on Pix4D's own pricing page with yearly billing. Monthly billing costs about 17% more. The catch for survey firms is the split: Standard makes the orthomosaic and DSM but not the DTM or contours, Analyst makes the DTM and contours but not the orthomosaic, so a firm that delivers both needs Pro. If several people need to measure, a cloud plan with seats included, such as DroneMapping Team at $249 a month with 10 seats, is usually cheaper.

PIX4Dmatic price at a glance

All prices come from Pix4D's PIX4Dmatic pricing page, checked in October 2026 in USD. Pix4D says yearly billing saves 17%, so the month-to-month price is worked out from the saving it prints. Confirm the figures in your own quote, because Pix4D changes plans and bundles.

PIX4Dmatic tier Yearly price Month to month, about What it is built for
Analyst $2,290 per year $229 per month Terrain and CAD work: terrain classification, grid of points, TIN, DTM, contour lines, surface comparison, automatic vectorization
Standard $3,990 per year $399 per month High-accuracy 3D processing: point cloud, mesh, DSM, orthomosaic and orthoplanes, georeferencing, drone, mobile and LiDAR data
Pro $4,990 per year $499 per month Everything in Analyst and Standard, plus Gaussian splatting and end-to-end geospatial and CAD workflows

Pix4D's own pricing page shows subscriptions only. Some US resellers still list a perpetual PIX4Dmatic license, so ask your dealer if you want to own it outright, and check what support and upgrades it includes.

Which PIX4Dmatic tier does a survey firm actually need?

Most survey and civil firms need Pro. A typical topographic deliverable is an orthomosaic for the base map plus a bare-earth DTM and contours for design, and Pix4D splits those between Standard and Analyst. Standard alone gives you the orthomosaic and DSM without ground classification or contours. Analyst alone gives you the DTM and contours without the orthomosaic. Pro is the only tier with both, at $4,990 a year per license.

The Standard tier fits a firm that sells orthomosaics, 3D meshes and point clouds to someone else who does the CAD work. Analyst fits a CAD technician who already receives point clouds from a field crew or a LiDAR unit and only needs terrain and linework.

How much does PIX4Dmatic cost per month?

On monthly billing, PIX4Dmatic costs about $229 for Analyst, $399 for Standard and $499 for Pro. Those figures come from the 17% saving Pix4D prints for yearly billing. On yearly billing the effective monthly cost drops to about $191, $333 and $416. Monthly makes sense for a single big project, yearly for steady survey work.

What PIX4Dmatic does not include in the price

The subscription price covers the desktop engine. Four costs sit outside it.

  • A workstation. PIX4Dmatic runs on Windows and natively on Apple silicon Macs, but its GPU acceleration uses NVIDIA CUDA, so heavy drone and LiDAR jobs want a Windows PC with a recent NVIDIA card and plenty of RAM. Budget for that machine and its replacement.
  • Client sharing. Sending a client an interactive map means PIX4Dcloud, which starts at $1,290 a year for Starter (500 credits) and runs $4,490 a year for Pro. Otherwise you export GeoTIFF, LAS and DXF files and send them.
  • More than one person working at once. Each license runs on one device at a time, so two technicians processing in parallel need two licenses.
  • Field capture. PIX4Dcatch and RTK hardware for terrestrial scanning are separate purchases.

What a 3-person survey team pays for PIX4Dmatic over 3 years

Take a small civil survey firm: a pilot, a CAD technician and a project manager. They fly 6 to 8 sites a month, about 5,000 images, and every client gets an orthomosaic, a DTM with contours, and a link to review the map. On busy weeks two people process at the same time.

Cost over 3 years PIX4Dmatic Pro DroneMapping Team
Software $4,990 a year per license. Two licenses for two people at once is $29,940 $4,464 on yearly billing ($1,488 a year)
Client sharing PIX4Dcloud Starter $1,290 a year, $3,870 over 3 years View links included
Workstations One capable NVIDIA PC per license, bought and maintained by you Not needed, processing runs in the cloud
Orthomosaic, DTM and contours Yes, on Pro Yes, DXF and SHP contours on Team
GCP and checkpoint report Yes Yes, RMSE in X, Y and Z on Team
People who can measure One per licensed device 10 seats
Known total $33,810 before hardware $4,464

With only one person processing, PIX4Dmatic Pro plus PIX4Dcloud Starter is $18,840 over three years, still about four times our Team plan. If your firm buys software through a procurement software approval process, put the full three-year figure with hardware in the request, not only the first-year license, because that is the number finance compares.

Is PIX4Dmatic worth it compared with PIX4Dmapper?

PIX4Dmatic is the faster engine for large drone, corridor and LiDAR datasets, and it is where Pix4D puts new features such as Gaussian splatting. PIX4Dmapper costs $3,990 a year, the same as PIX4Dmatic Standard, and still covers the full drone photogrammetry workflow including DTM and contours in one product. Firms that fly mid-size sites often find Mapper easier, while firms with 5,000-image corridors or LiDAR move to Matic.

When PIX4Dmatic is the right purchase

Honestly, PIX4Dmatic is a strong engine and some firms should buy it.

  • You process very large datasets, such as long corridors or quarries over 10,000 images, and want them on your own hardware.
  • You combine drone photos with LiDAR or mobile mapping data.
  • You need offline processing because sites have no internet or data must stay in-house.
  • One experienced analyst does all the processing and wants full control over every setting.

If that is your firm, compare Pro against PIX4Dmapper rather than against a cloud tool.

When a cloud plan with seats costs less

A cloud platform wins when processing is not a craft one person owns. If the pilot uploads, the CAD tech pulls contours and the PM measures volumes and sends the client a link, paying per device for a desktop engine charges you for capacity you do not use. DroneMapping turns geotagged drone photos into an orthomosaic, DSM and DTM, volumes, contours and a GCP accuracy report in any browser, including on a Mac. Compare it with Pix4D line by line on our Pix4D alternative page, or see how desktop engines stack up in Pix4D vs Metashape pricing.

Can PIX4Dmatic run on a Mac?

Yes. PIX4Dmatic runs natively on Apple silicon Macs from version 1.64, but GPU acceleration uses NVIDIA CUDA, which Macs do not have, so large jobs process more slowly than on a Windows workstation with an NVIDIA card. Our photogrammetry software for Mac page covers the cloud option, which processes on our servers instead of your laptop.

Is there a free trial of PIX4Dmatic?

Yes. Pix4D offers a free trial of PIX4Dmatic from its pricing page, and the desktop trial runs for 15 days. Use it on a real site with ground control and hold two or three points back as checkpoints, so you compare accuracy, not screenshots. You can do the same test in our demo without creating an account.

Is there a cheaper alternative to PIX4Dmatic for a survey team?

Yes. DroneMapping Starter is $99 per month or $588 per year with 3 seats and 3,000 images a month, and Team is $249 per month or $1,488 per year with 10 seats, GCP and checkpoint reports, DXF and SHP contours, stockpile PDFs and cut and fill. There is no workstation to buy, and every plan is on the drone mapping pricing page. We do not process LiDAR, so a LiDAR-heavy firm should stay on a desktop engine.
