PIX4Dcloud pricing and credits cost, Starter vs Pro and how many images a survey team gets

PIX4Dcloud costs $1,290 a year for Starter with 500 credits and $4,490 a year for Pro with 2,500 credits, on Pix4D's own pricing page. Month to month it is $129 and $449. Enterprise is quoted. The number that decides your real cost is the credit: one credit covers 100 megapixels, so a 20 MP drone photo uses 0.2 credits and Starter's 500 credits process about 2,500 photos a year. A firm that flies every week runs out early, which is when a flat plan such as DroneMapping Team, $249 a month for 15,000 images a month, costs less.

PIX4Dcloud price at a glance

All plan prices come from Pix4D's PIX4Dcloud pricing page and the credit rules from Pix4D's credit balance FAQ, both checked in October 2026 in USD. Pix4D says yearly billing saves 17%.

PIX4Dcloud plan Yearly price Month to month Credits included What the plan adds
Starter $1,290 per year $129 per month 500 a year 2D maps, 3D models, measurements and annotations
Pro $4,490 per year $449 per month 2,500 a year Everything in Starter plus automatic GCP detection, site progress tracking, volume comparison, a 2D and 3D design overlay, AR and Gaussian splatting
Enterprise Quoted Quoted Custom, with an unlimited processing option Team access control, API, webhooks, SSO, custom integrations and storage options

Pix4D sells extra credits in packs from 100 to 10,000 in its account portal, but the USD price is shown at checkout, not on the pricing page. Ask for it in your quote before you pick a plan.

How much does PIX4Dcloud cost?

PIX4Dcloud costs $1,290 a year or $129 a month for Starter, and $4,490 a year or $449 a month for Pro. Enterprise has custom pricing. On yearly billing, Starter works out to about $108 a month and Pro to about $374 a month. Each plan includes a yearly credit allowance, and processing beyond it needs extra credits bought separately.

How do PIX4Dcloud credits work?

Pix4D's formula is credits = image resolution in megapixels x number of images / 100. Credits are spent whenever the servers process a job, whether it succeeds or not, and that includes uploads from PIX4Dmapper or PIX4Dmatic and reprocessing. Drone jobs with Gaussian splatting use a divisor of 80 instead of 100, so they cost 25% more.

That makes the camera the biggest price lever. Here is what the included credits cover in a year:

Camera Credits per 1,000 photos Starter, 500 credits Pro, 2,500 credits
20 MP (DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise, Matrice 4E wide) 200 About 2,500 photos a year About 12,500 photos a year
45 MP (DJI Zenmuse P1) 450 About 1,100 photos a year About 5,550 photos a year
61 MP (Sony full-frame mapping cameras) 610 About 820 photos a year About 4,100 photos a year

A 100-acre topo flown at about 0.75 inch per pixel with 75% overlap is typically 700 to 1,000 photos at 20 MP, so Starter's yearly allowance covers about three jobs. Pro covers roughly one job of that size a month.

Do PIX4Dcloud credits expire?

No, not while your license is active. Unused credits roll over for as long as you keep paying. If the subscription lapses, Pix4D deletes the remaining credits 60 days after the license expires, so a firm that buys a large top-up should time it against the renewal date.

How many images can PIX4Dcloud process?

Pix4D caps a single PIX4Dcloud project at 4,000 images. Larger sites have to be split into several projects or processed on the desktop in PIX4Dmapper or PIX4Dmatic and then uploaded for sharing. Your credit balance sets how many projects you can run in a year.

PIX4Dcloud Starter vs Pro, which one a survey firm needs

Starter gives you maps, 3D models, measurements and annotations on a small yearly allowance. It fits a firm that processes a few jobs a year in the cloud and the rest on the desktop.

Pro is the plan for construction and earthworks work. Volume comparison between flights, the design overlay and site progress tracking are Pro features, and so is automatic GCP detection. At 2,500 credits it also has five times the processing. For a contractor who tracks stockpiles and grading every month, Starter is not a real option, so the comparison is Pro at $4,490 a year plus top-ups.

What a survey team pays over 3 years

Take a US survey and construction services firm that flies 4,000 photos a month with 20 MP cameras: weekly progress flights on two sites plus a couple of topos. That is 48,000 photos a year, or 9,600 PIX4Dcloud credits.

Cost over 3 years PIX4Dcloud Pro DroneMapping Team
Plan price $13,470 ($4,490 a year) $4,464 on yearly billing ($1,488 a year)
Processing included 2,500 credits a year, about 12,500 photos at 20 MP 15,000 photos a month, 180,000 a year
Shortfall for 48,000 photos a year About 7,100 credits a year to buy at Pix4D's top-up price None
Volumes and cut and fill Volume comparison and design overlay Stockpile PDFs and cut and fill against a design surface
Ground control Automatic GCP detection GCPs and checkpoints with RMSE in X, Y and Z
Team access control Enterprise plan 10 seats on Team
Known total $13,470 plus about 21,300 credits $4,464

Credit top-ups are easy to lose in a firm's books because they are bought from the portal in the middle of a job, often on a card. Firms that run several software vendors usually route the renewal invoices through accounts payable automation so every subscription and top-up lands against the right job.

Is PIX4Dcloud cheaper than PIX4Dmapper?

Starter is cheaper, Pro is not. PIX4Dmapper is $3,990 a year per license, with unlimited desktop processing on your own workstation. PIX4Dcloud Pro is $4,490 a year with 2,500 credits and no workstation. Many firms end up with both, Mapper for big jobs and Cloud for sharing, which is close to $8,500 a year before hardware. Our Pix4D alternative page compares that bundle with one cloud plan.

How much is Pix4D in total for a survey team?

It depends on the mix. PIX4Dmapper is $3,990 a year, PIX4Dmatic runs from $2,290 to $4,990 a year (see PIX4Dmatic pricing) and PIX4Dcloud from $1,290 to $4,490 a year, each sold separately and per license. A firm with two processing seats and Cloud Pro for sharing typically spends $12,000 to $15,000 a year before workstations.

When PIX4Dcloud is the right buy

  • You already own PIX4Dmapper or PIX4Dmatic and want browser sharing in the same ecosystem.
  • You process only a few hundred photos a month, so the included credits last.
  • You want Gaussian splatting or AR views for client presentations.
  • You need Pix4D's enterprise single sign-on or API and will negotiate an Enterprise contract.

When a flat cloud plan costs less

When you fly every week, credits become a meter. DroneMapping prices a monthly image allowance per company instead: Starter is $99 a month or $588 a year for 3,000 photos a month and 3 seats, Team is $249 a month or $1,488 a year for 15,000 photos a month and 10 seats, with GCP and checkpoint reports, DXF and SHP contours, stockpile PDFs and cut and fill software against your design surface. Photo resolution does not change the price. Every plan is listed on the drone mapping pricing page.

What we do not do: we do not process LiDAR, Gaussian splats or terrestrial scans. If those are central to your work, Pix4D's desktop products are the better fit.
