Resellers list Pix4Dfields at different numbers, some near $1,450 and some near $1,650 a year, and one European shop lists a perpetual license. Those are third-party listings and may be older or regional. Use the figure on Pix4D's own page for a 2026 budget.
How much does Pix4Dfields cost?
Pix4Dfields costs $1,990 a year on the yearly plan, which is the figure most small advisory firms plan around. The monthly option exists, but Pix4D prints the saving rather than the monthly amount, so ask for the number before you commit to a single season. The page's advertised starting price of $111 a month reflects the longer billing term, not what a one-year buyer pays.
The subscription is an all-in product: unlimited acreage, vegetation index maps from calibrated multispectral or full resolution RGB images, AI detection of weeds, field boundaries and obstacles, prescription maps for variable rate and spot spray, direct export to tractors, spray drones and field sprayers, insurance-ready PDF crop reports and 100 free credits a year.
Is there a Pix4Dfields free trial?
Pix4D advertises a free 15-day plan with no credit card on its pricing page, and a limited-time trial through the software guide. The page does not say whether the trial covers Pix4Dfields specifically, so check that before you rely on it. Run any trial on a flight you already mapped, so you can compare the index layer and zone values.
The costs that are not on the Pix4Dfields price page
The license is the line everyone compares. For a consultancy it is rarely the biggest line over three years. Three questions decide the total.
How many users does a subscription cover? The pricing page does not say. If it is one user, a five-agronomist firm buys five subscriptions at $1,990, which is $9,950 a year before a second year.
How do growers see the map? Pix4Dfields shares data through PIX4Dcloud or a PDF report. Cloud sharing draws on credits, and the page lists 100 a year. A firm serving dozens of growers should ask what happens when the credits run out.
Who runs the computer? Desktop processing needs a capable machine for each person who maps, and that cost sits outside the subscription.
Then compare what you do not need. If you never send a prescription file to a sprayer, you are paying for prescription maps, AI detection and equipment export, which are the features that justify the gap between a plain field map and Pix4Dfields.
Pix4Dfields price vs DroneMapping over 3 years for a 5-person team
| Cost line | Pix4Dfields, one subscription per person | DroneMapping Business |
|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | $9,950 | $3,588 |
| Year 2 | $9,950 | $3,588 |
| Year 3 | $9,950 | $3,588 |
| Three-year total | $29,850 | $10,764 |
| Prescription maps and sprayer export | Included | Not offered |
| Weed and boundary AI | Included | Not offered |
| Grower view links | PIX4Dcloud or PDF | Included, no seat needed |
The Pix4Dfields line assumes one subscription per person, which Pix4D's page does not confirm. If a single license covers your whole team, Pix4Dfields at $1,990 a year is the cheaper product and the comparison flips. Solo advisers should buy Pix4Dfields if they use prescription maps. Teams that deliver maps, zone tables and advice should price both.
When the Pix4Dfields price is worth paying
Pix4Dfields is good value when you run variable rate or spot spray programs, when AI weed detection saves hours of drawing, when one person does the mapping, and when the sprayer reads the file directly. A custom applicator that flies, maps and sprays in the same week gets the most out of it.
It is poor value when several advisers need the same maps, when the deliverable is a report and a link, or when the same drone also has to survey drainage or a feed pile. A licensed land surveyor from surveyors.io is the better call for a legal boundary or a drainage plan that needs a stamp. The drone map is for decisions on the farm.
Does Pix4Dfields make NDVI maps?
Yes. Pix4Dfields builds vegetation index maps from calibrated multispectral images and also from full resolution RGB images. DroneMapping Business builds NDVI and NDRE from multispectral cameras and adds mean, minimum, maximum and spread per zone with CSV export. An RGB camera has no near infrared band, so NDVI from plain photos is an approximation.
Is Pix4Dfields cheaper than Pix4Dmapper?
Yes on the published yearly price. Pix4Dfields is $1,990 a year, and PIX4Dmapper is $3,990 a year. They do different jobs: Pix4Dfields is built for crop analysis and machine files, while Pix4Dmapper is a general photogrammetry tool for survey and mapping.
